Exploring the Game Transfer Model: Improving Games for Learning

As my graduation project I studied the Game Transfer Model. The model helps improve the educational process of a game. My thesis focused on figuring out how a game would look if it used the model.

Often when a player learns something through a game they are only able to apply it in the game itself. To be able to use the learned skill or knowledge outside of it the player has to transfer it out of the game context and into a real life context. The Game Transfer Model promotes and facilitates this process. Things which can get transferred can be as simple as understanding how to build a chair, to a new way of looking at the world.
